A connecting flight is part of an itinerary that requires a passenger to change aircraft between the origin and final destination. The airport where that change happens is the connecting airport, and the scheduled interval between the two flights is the connection time.

The FlyAndCry definition
Two flights held together by one optimistic hallway.
A connection converts one journey into a relay race where the baton is your carry-on bag and the second runner is already closing the gate. Airlines call it a network. Your knees call it Terminal B.
How does a flight connection work?
After the first flight lands, passengers follow signs or current airport information to the departure gate for the next flight. Depending on the itinerary and airport, they may also need to change terminals, pass through security again, complete border formalities or collect and recheck baggage. Procedures should be confirmed with the airline and airport.
What is minimum connecting time?
Minimum connecting time is the shortest published interval considered necessary to transfer a passenger and baggage between flights at a particular airport under specified conditions. A bookable itinerary may meet that minimum without providing much spare time. When choosing flights separately, the passenger may carry more risk if the first delay causes the second flight to be missed.
At FlyAndCry
Every FlyAndCry connection includes our Corridor Confidence Package:
- the first flight arrives at the gate furthest from the second;
- the app displays “plenty of time” without measuring time;
- moving walkways stop to protect their work-life balance;
- your checked bag enjoys a more relaxed itinerary.
If you miss the connection, our representative will point to a paragraph proving that the hallway was within industry dimensions. Rebooking is available after the emotional fare difference.

Factual background
The U.S. Department of Transportation describes a connection as a change of planes and warns that it carries a risk of misconnection if the first flight is delayed. DOT’s glossary defines minimum connecting time as the shortest interval required to transfer a passenger and baggage from one flight to a connecting flight.
